This is going to be a different post today. I want to tell a story on how some dickhead and lowlife people tried to scam me.

Last week I got an email from "Cempaka Schools" in Malaysia saying that they are looking for experienced ESL teachers who will teach in their school starting next month. The email came from Mrs. Puan Aimi Masdiana, the principal of the school. I attached my cover letter and CV and sent them an email. 1 or 2 days letter, I got another email saying that they have received my job application. After that, they asked me to answer an online interview. It was 2 pages long. I know they just copied the questions from the internet. I ignored the doubts in my head and sent them my answers. I was actually nott super serious with my answers because I know I won't get hired. But 2 days later, they HIRED me! They even sent me an employment contract agreement and offer letter. And it looks LEGIT!!!

Here are the screenshots of their email:

And they are using translator to convert from Malay to English. It's their excuse not to have a one-on-one interview on Skype.

'cause I've been watching closely, and you just wouldn't show your face

HEELLPPPP!!! Internet thieves are everywhere!!
Nope. Not saying this because someone stole my photos. I am not famous and pretty for that lol. I am writing this because I remembered the TV show Catfish. I watched some episodes and until now I still don't understand why people do that :< "Catfish" is a person who creates fake personal profiles on social media sites using someone else's pictures and false biographical information to pretend to be someone other than themselves (wikipedia). Some people use correct information about themselves BUT upload different picture i.e photo of a gorgeous and not that famous woman so people won't notice that they are pretenders. WHY DO THAT? DON'T YOU HAVE A FACE?? Embrace what God has given you. Geez. It's better to edit your photos using Photoshop than steal photos of others just because (you think) you're not that pretty. Why deceive people? I feel extremely bad for others who compliments your "fake" pictures on Facebook. They've been cheated!! lol

It's freaking hot in Vietnam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >___< I am really dark right now T-T I don't think my parents would be able to recognize me when they see me LOL exaggerated much =p But seriously, my face, arms, and feet got darker T-T I don't think sunscreen lotion would help ><

Got some news I gotta share :3 I had my demo teaching + interview yesterday (22 July and yesterday marked my first month in Vietnam! Yayyy)and it was amazeballs! It was a new experience for me. The Vietnamese little kids are so cute and I was impressed with their English skills. So first things first, I arrived at the school around 8:50 AM. I filled up a form and the Vietnamese teacher guided me on my way up to the classrooms. When I went in, the kids together with the Vietnamese teacher were singing English songs about superheroes. And since their topic was about superheroes, they printed photos of Batman, Superman, Spiderman, and The Hulk. After a good 10 minutes of singing, the teacher invited me to sit beside the kids and my nerve-wracking demo teaching started :p
I introduced myself. I wrote my name on the board and I asked my students to repeat my name. I asked their names one by one. Some of them talked, some didn't. Not sure if they were shy or what. I guess they are Nursery students. And there's this cute little girl beside me who kept on calling me "teacher" :) It's very fulfilling when they call you "teacher". You know that "I-want-to-have-kids-but-they-are-difficult-to-handle" feeling? Yep, that's what I felt yesterday. Back to the teaching, I introduced 4 superheroes and asked them who they wanted to be. One kid was like, "Teacher! Teacher! I want to be Superman!" and the other one said "Teacher, I want to be Batman!" and it started to get noisy again but it's fun! :) I was just a bit intimidated with 2 or 3 Vietnamese assistant teachers inside the classroom but all good cus I had fun and the students had more fun which is a good thing!
I was interviewed by the Head Teacher I guess? She told me that my demo teaching was okay and my voice and explanation were clear for students to understand. She gave me tips and ideas on how to control the class. I think I got the job?? I don't know because that school is not hiring teachers because according to her, they're already full BUT the other (same) school in District 3 is looking for teachers and that's where I think she's gonna place me. She just needs to talk to the manager about it and they'll email me. The thing is, I don't and can't work outside District 7 because first, I don't know how to drive motorbike; second, other districts like District 1 & 3 are far from here; third, most classes in kindergarten start at 7 or 8.30 AM so traveling from D7 to another will take time. I'm not being picky or anything but why should I need to apply in other districts when there's tons of kindergarten and language schools here in my district? Do you see the logic there? lol

Anyway, here are some photos I took few days ago! :)

Went to Lotteria in Lotte Mart on Tuesday!

Hey hey hey! Was quite busy the past few days but thank God for Sundays! :3 Not sure where to start with my post for today but I'll let the photos do the talking.

Ted and I met up with our Vietnamese friend Van. That's her in the middle of the picture in front of Ben Thanh Market. Everything looks pretty in Saigon at night.

And I finally know the way going to D1 from our place! Yayyy :) I am Ted's map :) I always tell him to drive slowly, to be careful, and warn him sometimes when he drives fast. Glad we are still in one piece :p I still need to learn how to drive motorbike ugh THE STRUGGLE IS REAL =/ Ted once taught me how to drive but ended up arguing lol

15th July

So yeah we met up with Van. We ate in an Italian restaurant in Bui Vien st. before drinking.

Ted told Van that Coke tastes better when you put lemon inside. She tried it and was amazed how lemon did wonders to the taste of the Coke =p I didn't try it cus I like the original taste better lol

Hi guys! New updates about my life here in Vietnam :)

1. We are going to buy a 2nd hand motorbike (photo below) tomorrow that costs 200 USD or 4M dong. We went to the city today to meet the owner and paid 1M for the deposit. Ted and Pierre will pick them up tomorrow since Ted already practiced driving. Not sure if I will tag along since my monthly visitor came today >< Makes me lazy to go out.

Now we don't have to spend money and worry about riding taxis or hiring xe oms! We can go out anytime we want with our motorbike! I just need to learn how to drive it! ^-^

2. I was DRAGGED to buy elephant pants today at Ben Thanh Market.

Yep, dragged. Some sales ladies in Ben Thanh Market touch your hand when you pass their stalls and unluckily for me, when I asked how much it was, one of them grabbed my wrist and led me inside so I can choose the design of the pants that I want. She offered 150.000 VND which is ridiculous because it only costs 120.000 VND in most stores. In the end I paid 120k. She offered different Adidas clothes to Ted but he refused :p It was funny! :D

Ted and I went to Vivo city mall yesterday and it was so-so. It's just a normal shopping mall for me with less people compared to Lotte Mart. I still like going to LM more.

We had a hard time looking for ATM. We also found out that there's only one ATM in that mall and when we saw one, it was not working!! We were so disappointed >__< Good thing we have around 700.000 VND. It was more than enough, we even had bubble tea! ;p

Sup everyone! I really feel like I should not blog today because I literally got nothing interesting to talk about =p From the last time I posted here up to this time, all I did was eat, sleep, drink iced coffee outside, and watch TV. I'm going to start my teaching class on Saturday! :) It's only a half day class but starting Monday I'll teach the whole day. I hope the class is not everyday (which I highly doubt) because like what I mentioned in my last post, the school is far from my apartment. Pierre said there's a lot of Korean schools in Phu My Hung (around my district) where I could teach but I already accepted the offer and Cathy, my FIlipina friend who is also a teacher there, is really nice and takes care of me a lot. I also met the owner and I "think" she likes me lol

Nothing special happened so photos!

I like this better than Pringles! I bought a cheese flavor but I like the sour cream and onion more :3

I'm going to start this post by saying TED IS FINALLY HERE YAYYYY :) He arrived on Wednesday morning! It took an hour to get to the airport and another hour of waiting for him outside the airport. I'm so happy and I really feel that he missed me a lot! :) The second time we meet is much sweeter than the first one ^-^ I started to use his phone a lot to upload photos on Instagram because my LG phone is slow and the quality of the camera is shitty.

Enough talking, here are random photos from when Ted arrived up to today (Saturday)

I took this photo while Ted and I were at the coffee shop! The sky is so pretty <3
